INEGI is recognized as a Center for Technology and Innovation

INEGI – Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering was recently recognized by ANI - Portuguese National Innovation Agency as a Center for Technology and Innovation (CTI).

According to the ANI, the objective of the 26 entities that obtained the recognition is to contribute to increasing the degree of specialization of the economy and the added value of the national offer, promoting the competitiveness of companies, especially small and medium-sized companies (SMEs).

The Technology and Innovation Centers (CTI), which succeed the Technological Centers and the Interface Centers, are entities of the national science and technology system dedicated to the production, dissemination and transmission of knowledge, oriented towards companies and towards the creation of of economic value, contributing to the pursuit of public policy objectives.

This reform is part of the set of measures foreseen under the national Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
