INEGI present at the 5th Meeting of the Young Researchers of LAETA

The 5th Meeting of the Young Researchers of LAETA (Associated Laboratory in Energy, Transport and Aerospace) took place on the 5th and 6th of May, and counted with INEGI. The event brought together 160 young researchers and scientists, of which 71 were affiliated with INEGI.

Over two days, a total of 143 presentations were made within the research areas of the associated laboratory, namely Materials and Manufacturing Processes, Mechanical Structures and Systems, Energy, Environment and Sustainability, Intelligent Systems and Control and Biomechanics.

During the meeting, the Young Investigator Award - Professor Mário Costa was also awarded for the first time to Rui Sampaio, from IDMEC - Institute of Mechanical Engineering.

This meeting, which is now in its 5th edition, was born with the aim of promoting and encouraging interdisciplinary discussion between the different research strands developed by young researchers at LAETA and its four main member institutions (INEGI - Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, Institute of Mechanical Engineering, linked to the Instituto Superior Técnico of the Technical University of Lisbon, the Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics, linked to the University of Coimbra, and the Research Center in Aeronautics and Astronautics of the University of Beira interior).
