Vice President of INEGI is among the world's top 2% of most cited scientists

Pedro Camanho, researcher and vice president of INEGI, is part of the list of the most cited scientists worldwide. Known as the top 2% in the world, the list is made up of more than 150 thousand scientists from various scientific areas.
The ranking is carried out by Stanford University and is based on citation metrics to characterise the impact and influence of the work of researchers from all over the world.
It is important to highlight that this prestigious distinction comes after a very important academic career, since the researcher's work in the study and development of advanced composite materials is an international reference.
Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) since 2014, Pedro Camanho is also president of the Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transport and Aerospace (LAETA), and director of the 'Space-Earth Interactions' area of the UT Austin Portugal program. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the European Mechanical Society (EUROMECH), a member of the Board of the European Composite Materials Society (ESCM) and of the Engineering Panel European Research Council (ERC).
More recently, he was named a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, researcher of the year at the University of Porto, and invited to join the editorial board of the International Journal of Solids and Structures, a world reference magazine in the field of solid and structural mechanics.
